WILL'S full name is Will Scarlett; he is a former police horse who worked for the Nottinghamshire police before permanent lameness forced him into early retirement. His work with the Mounted Police included attending Nottingham Forest football matches and maintaining public order in the city. Now we think he thoroughly deserves to take the weight off his hooves and relax!
Wensley One hot Summer's day in 2004, Redwings rescued 72 horses and ponies from Lincolnshire. There were big stallions, tiny foals and everything in between. Wensley the Shetland was just a few weeks old at the time. He and his friends are named after different kinds of cheese. Wensley is actually short for Wensleydale, and his best friends are Edam, Gorgy and Mozzarella!
Dylan was found wandering the Welsh commons, painfully thin. He was born with a condition known as 'locking stifles' which made it very difficult for him to move about to find food and our staff knew he would never survive without the right veterinary care. He has settled in wonderfully at Redwings and charms the socks off everyone he meets!
